{"id":134,"date":"2019-06-30T16:22:20","date_gmt":"2019-06-30T14:22:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/english.beefree.es\/?p=134"},"modified":"2026-02-10T16:19:35","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T15:19:35","slug":"swarm-tendency-is-very-reduced-in-small-cell-bees-with-housel-positioning-of-combs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.resistantbees.es\/?p=134","title":{"rendered":"swarm tendency is very reduced in small cell bees with Housel positioning of combs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"Estilo52\">\n<p>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Riesenschwarm\" src=\"http:\/\/resistantbees.com\/fotos\/luca_enj2.jpg\" alt=\"Riesenschwarm\" width=\"350\" height=\"467\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I used to believe, as is generally known, that swarming is a natural way of the bees to increase.\u00a0A few years ago I&#8217;ve even built an Apidictor, a machine that displays if and when the bees swarm through the change of tones in the hive.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>But since I have the colonies on\u00a0<a href=\"\/?p=114\">Housel arrangement<\/a>, the bees will not swarm.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It seems they all like it at home.<br \/>\nI always turn to the comparison, if your bed would be hang on the ceiling, wouldn\u2019t you leave the house?<\/p>\n<p>Now if the bees can see that an old queen no longer works, they make some supersedure cells and soon they have a new queen.<\/p>\n<p>Of course we have to assume that each colony will swarm, if we did not leave enough room so as the queen can lay the required number of eggs.<br \/>\nTherefore, we work with an\u00a0<a href=\"\/?p=437\">unlimited brood nest,<\/a>\u00a0no barrier fence, but more on this subject later.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Previously swarmed about 40% of the hives, now there are about 5%.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0And that is solely due to the proper arrangement of the honeycombs.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] .
